Default $290 worth of parts for $80..

finally used my harley chrome cash or whatever it's called on a SE compensator and set of rear pads. I couldn't believe my local HD dealer had a comp in stock, the updated one at that. i was able to get 10% off and along with my harley dollars, i only had to pay 80 bucks for new pads and the compensator.. i felt like i hit the lottery..

I know what i'm doing this weekend.. well after finishing the overhaul on a civic transmission and getting that off my lift..

anyone in the western md, wv, va (route 81)area and needs to stop at williamsport harley, ask for Reid.. he's pretty smart when it comes to what fits and what doesn't and without a attitude..

if reid wasn't there i would travel 30 miles to M&S to get parts or info. That place is huge and a great customer service attitude. they understand its the customers that make their paychecks.

I swore off the Frederick shop years ago (long story), but have since discovered their race shop HDFR on the corner by the dealer. Awesome bunch of guys, they sell all the parts that the parts desk has, and if you need any custom machining of any kind, including CNC, they are well equipped to handle it. Just see Mike or Mike. I have yet to go the Williamsport shop, did most of my dealer stuff up at Battlefield. But yes, M&S is a nice shop!

thanks for the heads up on the race shop. i've never been to the fred store. The first time i walked into M&S i was in disbelief how they built the place. its nicer then most auto dealers i've been into and they got more bikes on the showroom then a car dealer i know of has on their lot.. .

Jakazz, where were you a few weeks ago. i had only read about some oil problems in the first version and that the "A" part, (updated part) had the fix in it.. a clutch type washer that was grooved to get oil flow into the hub. I hadn't heard of the rotor and spoke wear issue. that richard guy has done his home work for sure.

I'll have to keep a eye on mine seeing how i installed it this afternoon.. I will say this about the SEC.. its like putting in a shift kit. I couldn't believe how much it changed the way the bike runs. firm solid shifts, minimal clunking, found neutral and didn't even realize i was in until i looked down. I usually have trouble getting N while coasting into garage and usually put it in when stopped. when i pulled in and looked down, i was already in N..

plus the 5th gr rattle is gone.. thats worth it itself, as long as it don't grenade.

i still have the original so if it gives me problems i will tighten up the spring pack with shims..
