Just completed my first real ride with my new H.D. mini tach on my Fatboy. Can't beleave how much I've been ******* my bike before, with the tach you sure can tell, other than by sound, when you should be shifting,or staying in a lower gear and just ride.I could never figure out what mounting system I wanted untill I saw the CVO Fatboy tach mount as part of the handle bar clamp, this should be a standard on all Harley's.

I went with the H-D speedometer/tachometer combo gauge on my FB. I like it a lot.
That's very nice as well.
Did you install it yourself? If so, how difficult was the installation???
Yes, I installed it myself and it was very easy. One caveat. You WILL want a trusted assistance to hold the dash for you during a few steps in the install so you don't scratch your tank while performing the swap. Scratching the tank would be a real danger without some help. My wife assisted me.
I like the tach setup that came on my Fat Boy SE, but if my bike didn't come with a tach, I would go for the setup that XTROOPER just installed.
Tom
I run a windshield and windshield bag from time to time, and like the idea of the speedo/tach combination so I don't have to add anything to the bar, risers, or whatever...
The combo model for my 2003 Fat Boy (#74461-03A) has a list price of $419, but can be purchased from places like Surdyke's for $343 including having them set the correct mileage before shipping it out.
That doesn't sound like a bad price, and although I have no wife, I'm sure I could find a 'trusted assistant' to help with the installation.
