anyone know....can you totally remove the horn bracket w/out any issues? it looks like a bridge bracket connecting the two towers. can the whole thing be removed ?
i want to take off the cowbell bracket and the bridge bracket..
my plan, 2in tank lift....then i want to get a small horn and mount to down tube...then relo the coils to the splashguard.

this would show the engine in it entirety!
thanks
Yes, you can remove the bracket, it is only there to hold the horn or coil etc. It is not needed for any structural purpose.
the big heavy bracket that bolts to both heads and " frame backbone" that the horn, chrome bracket and rubber isolator bushing mount on, is the upper engine mount. i don't think you should be removing that.

thats what i wanted to confirm! that bracket looked pretty heavy duty for just holding on a horn. ill prob grind off the horn bracket "L" tab and pc it so it doesnt stick out as much.
you can always take it off to paint or have it chromed. I moved my horn but left the tab there to use for the plug wire to be strapped to.. i never paid much attention to the bracket, i'll have to look at it closer and see if i want to paint it myself. i've got to get some updated pics.. hopefully once the compensator is done today i can get some new pics...
don't mind the mess or winter crud... lol.. shes also suited for winter riding here .. she definitely needs a cleaning..
I moved the horn to the engine guard bar top center bolt.. it took some time to get it all mounted since it all has to go in as a assembly, but loose so you have access to the upper bar bolt.
