I did the "gotsaggybags.com" set ... yeah, it was pricey at $100, but the bags look great. Also got the locking set up too. It won't stop anyone who is serious about stealing, but it will stop the quick grab and go thief.

seemed like a good chunk of money, but you only have to do it once ... bags look great

As a retired Sheetmetal/Millwright I could have made mine, but 2 yr ago I was at my dealers when they where having a blow out tent sale.

Picked up my PaPa bag braces for 1/2 off.

They bolt on the two bolts where U bags bolt to and IMO are great.
They don't make U bags look like the Got saggy bags kit does. IMO the Got Saggy BAgs look like leather stretched over hard bags.

The PaPa kit takes out the saggy top, while still giving Ur bags their orginal look. Thats why I really like them.

My bags are going on 6yrs, I put them in 3yrs ago, My bags wasn't bad to begin with though. I always stuffed them in the winter time with pillows during storage. They were just starting to sag in the middle of the lids, but the PaPa braces brought them back straight again.

U can see the bags below, this pic was taken last fall.

They would be fairly easy to make a set. remember, one lf and one rt.

The Second link show the bracket ***. The back metal brace that bolts to the bike two bolts is like 10 gauge and the front piece that goes toward the bags is Lexan, about the same, don't think it 3/16''. with all-thread rod holding them apart and together. Then nuts on each side of both plates.

So U'll 2 pieces of metal flat stock, 2 pieces of Lexan, 4 all-thread 1/4'' rods and 16 nuts & washers.

Used the "Got Saggy Bags" kit and while the solution is pretty basic, which is some ways makes the cost a bit hard to swallow, it also seems to work rather well.

I haven't done it yet but plan on trying to come up with a PVC pipe frame to set inside the bag! I made a light weight set of saw horses that fold up using pvc pipe! There pretty sturdy! If the bag frame works out I'll post pics!

I went with saggybags and they were worth every penny. I actually thought that these things are to simple and I wasted my $ but the results were great. It did cross my mind to get some plastic and make a copy of them before the install because there's really nothing to them, but I didn't think it would be fair. As far as making your own, I think it would be pretty hard to get the measurements just right, although I'm sure you could buil something that would at least help...

I installed a set of baggy bag kit in my wife's heritage and her bags look better than when she brought it off the showroom floor. Best investment money can buy for your bags.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. Since the forcast for tonight is 2-6" of snow I'll have some time to mock up some inner rails and plastic inner lid supports.
