Default Front brake master cylinder help

I have a chance to get a great deal on a 11/16 bore chrome front master cylinder for my 2005 Deluxe.Single disc master cylinders are 9/16 bore. Can this cylinder be used and what changes or concerns would be caused or created by using the 11/16 cylinder.Any help would be great, thanks.

If you go to a 11/16 you will have greater squeezing effort, and less braking. The bigger the bore, the more fluid it pushes, but at a lower psi, generally 11/16 and 3/4 bores are for dual caliper applications.
Can you use it? yes, I have a 3/4 bore on my bike, and it sucks, I didn't put it there, and I plan on a 9/16 or 5/8 bore cylinder this season.

Just the opposite. A smaller bore will provide more pressure at a lower level of lever force. If you put a bigger bore master on you will notice that it takes a stronger squeeze vs. the smaller bore to achieve the same effective braking.

Hole puncher and silver ghost are saying the same thing... they just don't know it <grin>.

They both are correct. You will in effect lower the pressure at your caliper. Therefore it will take more lever pull to get the same amount of stop. Not a good thing for a front brake... it is the brake that does the most to stop your bike if you use it correctly. OTOH... it will give you more 'feel' between starting to stop and locking up.
