Default Apes!

I am just asking for advice based on everyone's experience.....I have a 2007 Heritage Classic...(pic in sig) and I am thinking that I would like to have some apes....I do not care for the extreme apes....maybe so called mini apes....any advice regarding fit, size and brand would be read and much appreciated....

Thanks...

many here run carlini apes

typically 12-14 in are the smaller ones
14-16 are the mediums
16+ are the big dogs

the ones you select s/b based on your height and/or style preference

side note, usually any apes require new cables which could be a much $ as the apes

check out the "fit" tab. Pretty dead-on.

So, what do you call what you've got on there now, and what do you consider extreme?

Maybe some stock take-offs from a later model would be the fit you're looking for? I'm sure there's some available on here (myself included)....

I can say this because I owned them. I really don't like anything about the stock Heritage bars (they look even worse tilted back). I went with these (below). Not apes by a long shot, but a much better look and much more comfortable with more pullback.

I also don't like 'apes' on a stock softail. If you have the rest of the look, they're cool, but otherwise just look tacked on.

(they're actually the Road King Touring bar. Perfect width and height IMO)

I get a feeling you'd like the same height you have, just with more pullback.
