Default Any ideas?

Hey guys,

I have a skull gas cap medallion on my stock gas cap. I just changed it out for the billet skull gas cap so I want to put the medallion on my air wing horn cover. I have seen a few of these on ebay that cost like $100.00. I already have the horn cover powedercoated black and I just want to attach the medallion which I already have. Any suggestions on how to attach it? I thought about drilling a tiny hole in both and using a very small screw and nut. However if I can find an adhesive that will work I would rather go that route. It will need to be something that will not damage the powder coat, can withstand a lot of vibration, and is water resistant.

I am also needing to reattach my chrome swing arm inserts that fell off. This seems to be very common from reading on the forum, so suggestions for attaching them will be appreciated as well.

HiWARG, I've used 3M Molding tape with good results. You can find it at any auto parts store and I've even seen it at Lowes. It comes in different lengths and widths and is not very expensive. You might also try epoxy.

Rather than use the tape I would go the epoxy route. clean off the two surfaces with a good degreaser/wax remover and use a little bit of JB Weld with a c-clamp to hold get themtogether tight for 24 hours. Just don't use too much of it or it will seep out from underneath.
If you drill a couple of holes in the horn cover behind the emblem. It willsqueeze some through and you can usethat and any left over tospread around the holes. Once that stuffcuresit will never come off, even if you soak it in gas. So make sure its straight or you'll never be able to fix it.

The 3M double sided auto tape (used for emblems etc.) is good stuff. Clean areas well, lightly clamp the parts for 30 seconds - should last as long as you need it to.......
