Default HELP!!!! Exhaust brackets for 1994 Fatboy

Okay, I have a 1994 Fatboy that had drag pipes on it when I bought it. Decided it's time to change exhaust so I bought Vance & Hines Straightshot Hi/Low pipes. According to the chart on V&H wesite, these will work. Well, when I went to install them I seen that the drag pipes that are on it do not use the stock exhaust bracket. They don't use a bracket at all!!! I called V & H and they told me I need to get a stock bracket to mount the new exhaust. The problem I am facing now is I can't find one that works. I have the bottom bracket already on the bike but I don't have one for the top exhaust. Everyone I talk to has brackets for 2000 and up Fatboys or they are just uncertain of what I need. Can someone please help me in telling me what I need and where to get them from. Thank you very much.

Ok, Making sure I got this right..
94 FLSTF
VH Hi/Low pipes

The bracket your drags were using probably wasn't the "stock" bracket, meaning the OEM bracket.
Sounds like VH is telling you that you need the original OEM bracket.
Funny, I can't find a hi/low version for that pipe on their site.. point me to it if I'm missing it. I can only see the straightshots, and straightshots HS (heat sheild version).

Gotta love JP Cycles.. You pay full retail there but they got a lot of info... Checked their catalog, the online catalog doesn't say anything but their paper catalog version says:

"Note: When mounting high/low system on FLSTC, FXST models, rear mount must be purchased. Use OEM 65522-91 or 440-521. Used on FLSTF."

.. ok so I looked up 440-521.. That is a chrome version of the oem.. $99 You can get the black powdercoat oem part over the HD dealer parts counter for a bit less I imagine.. say $45-75.

Take a look at http://www.jpcycles.com/catalog/2006...alog/0227.html
Search for 440-521 in middle of left column.. Look like something that will work? probably attaches to the swingarm area it looks like. The newer version on TC's bolts to two bolts above and below the swingarm bolt.

Hope I helped. Good luck.. I hate parts delimnas.

You will want the aftermarket bracket for the rear pipe. The stock one is big and ugly.

check ebay. I see them under Fatboy Parts and Accs. It's the one that mounts on the pivot of the swing arm. Send me an email if you have any problem and I'll go online and get you an ebay item number. They are usually around $20. Also you will need the one that fits 99 and earlier.
