Default Confused about handlebars.

First off, I've got a 09 Rocker FXCW. I've found the bars I want but I'm worried about the wiring. The bars I'm looking at are not dimpled and I've read several different things about how I won't be able to wire up stock controls if that is so. I've also read ways to modify stock controls if necessary but it seems line a real pain in the ***. Anyway, just wondered if somebody can dumb down exactly what my best route is since I'm new to bikes and still learning.

You got to have dimpled bars to use stock controls... No doubt you can find the bars you want with dimples though... Possibly look at internal wired bars...

What kind of bars are you looking at?

They may not be dimpled. BUT are they drilled for internal wiring? If so you should be fine. Dimpled is to run the wires outside the bars. Any one who is in the market for custom bars usually run the wires inside the bars for that nice clean look.

High quality bars like Wild One Chubbys are not dimpled ether. But they are drilled for internal wiring. Guess they figure why would someone not want to run the wires on the inside of the bars.So if they are drilled you should be good to go. Unless you want to run the wires on the outside for what ever reason.Hope this helps.

One of the bars is this right here, Ebay item number 400237819090. I'd post a link but I'm on my phone and I'm not sure the mobile link would pull up on a regular computer. The other set I'm looking at is pretty much identical except they're 1.25 diameter and have slightly different pullback and rise.

Looks like those are set up for internal wiring and stock controls and switch housings. As long as you don't mind doing the extra work to wire them internally, they will work just fine for ya.

That's what I thought but was a little unsure. Thanks for bearing with me guys. I know my cars well enough but I feel lost in the woods when it comes to customizing my bike.
