Default Shotgun

When I was looking for air I researched hard because this is a big cost. I went with Shotgun because of the adjustability to have a great ride with a compression, rebound style of shock. Unlike most air systems that just raise and lower like airbags on my F-350. This shock is the best mod I had done to my sled so far! Oh and the excellent reviews not the cost. IMO

I'm a bit leery of a company that's so small/new/secret, you can't find any information about who they are and what exactly it is they are selling. Certainly seems Shotguns have floated to the top.

If your concern is with airlines failing, Shotguns don't leave any air in the lines. The shock itself has to fail in order to lose air. The line (there is only one) is for transfer only.

I don't want to hijack prost34's thread, but if TNB could give the name of this new company that would be great. Prost34 seemed like he wanted to do some of his own research too along with getting opinions from those here on the board

Sorry, no website information on the card. As mentioned, I met him at one of the local events where he had his bike setup. He basically told me that he got tired of having problems with an air setup he originally ran (compressor issues) and decided to make his own setup. Just for clarification, the air setup he had problems with was not Shotgun Shocks, but another brand which I won't mention nor has it been mentioned.

Edit: Attached is a photo I took of his bike.

I know that feeling...I've sat along the rode a few times until I finally got smart and carried a box of fittings and lines! LOL Unfortunately with the bike, that's not an option. And that is the beauty of the Shotgun design, even if the little 3 or 4 inch line goes, your not stranded along the road.

And just my opinion on the SAS with everything self contained to include the compressor, if the compressor goes I'm guessing you'd have to ship the entire shock setup off for repair? In the case of the Shotgun, you'd simply unbolt the compressor and replace it. Regardless of the system, myself, I'd prefer things to be in components for easier maintenance.

Now this new system with air legs I'd guess you'd call it, I'd like to see a picture of that. I'm trying to visualize how the shock body is built if it contains the legs. Definitely would be sweet to have an air functioning center stand. LOL Be like a damn indy car!

this is what I originally envisioned when I installed the center stand. But that didn't work with the duals I put on later. Oh well!

I still couldn't be happier with my shotgun. And I have never heard of them failing but I do know the way it's set up, in the event of a failure when riding, you won't be slammed, in fact, the bike is raised if it fails. Pretty good piece of mind for me.

Best place to get it is from the source - call JD and talk with him, and I'm sure you'll be convinced.
