I have this problem with wind buffeting on my Heritage. It makes my glasses bounce around when I reach 70mph and gets worse the faster I go. My question is this.....has anybody installed air deflectors and if so would they help this problem? Thanks for any advice.
Yes and yes. I put on the factory deflectors and it was one of the best add ons I have purchased. They should come stock. No more bouncin glasses or lid.
Had a fella at work go buy his first bike, then complained about the wind and his glasses. He tried every product out there with no luck. We've told him his only option now is a full face helmet of trade the bike off on a mini van lol
lower deflectors will definitely help. make sure the windshield is the correct height for you also. you should be looking just over the top of the windshield, not through it. when sitting on the bike in your normal riding position the top of the WS should be just about level with upper lip/nose area.. at least thats the advice i followed and it made a world of difference before i added the deflectors to all but eliminate the buffeting.
Join the club. We've got jackets.
Yes the deflectors help, considerably.
Do they eleminate it? No.
I haven't tried a windshield with the curve. I did (finally)
try the (TALL) stock height shield. Btwn that and the
chrome deflectors, it all but stops the buffeting. But that tall
shield really knocks the hell outta the looks . . . And I really don't
like looking thru it.
I have toyed with the idea of a batwing for it. I actually have an older one.
Kinda gave up on the idea. Considering other options at the moment.
I've got the stock 18" quick release and I look right through it sitting normal (I like to hunch a bit rather that sit straight up like I got a stick up my bum, haha). I'd consider cutting it down about 4 inches, but there's no coming back from that if it sucks. Anyone sell replacement plastic for the quick releases?
