Why wont rims fit the deuce

Why wont rims fit the deuce

I am having a tough time figuring out why no other softail rims with a 3/4" axle wont fit the rear of a deuce. All the wheel descriptions i see say "except deuce". Why is this. What is so mysterestly different about the deuce that makes any ordinary 3/4" sealed bearing wheel wont fit?

MOST 3/4 axle rear Softail rear wheels are 3 to 3.5 wide where Deuce wheels are 4.5...and I sure Harley put a different hub in it just for good measure... if you are willing to mock it up and get custom spacers...pretty easy to make one fit.

I know a couple of people who used Duece rear wheels on sportsters and dynas so I'm sure there's no magic voodoo involved. Like Tom said.....probably just the different widths thats all.
