Default Stage 1 download

I am puting a SE AC and V&H Big Radius put on my 07 Deuce and getting the HD stage 1 download. Do Ihave to add some kind of tuner (SERT, Power Commander)besides the stage 1 download if I am not going to add anything else at this time.

Thanks,

Well, you're going to need something to reflash your ECM with the downloaded map that you refer to. If it's a H-D map, you'll need a SERT.

Alternately, you can purchase and install the PCIII USB and download the available map for your setup from the Power Commander web site.

I put some duals and SE AC on my Deluxe and only needed the download. I was preparedto add the SERT but the download was successful without it (i'e, more HP, not decal popping).I'm sure a tuner would improve performance even more. Most have added a tuner.

Our local dealer says you don't need a tunerjust the download...However, both the SE Fatboy and my Deluxe ran lean without some sort of tuner. I put a Revtech DFO on the Deluxe and a V&H fuel pak on the Fatboy and both are running great....I'm sure they are not running as good as if I had bought SERTs and then a dyno but I didn't want to spend that kind of money.....Good luck

HD stage 1 download (street) is for the SE air cleaner only. The stage 1 (race) is for SE air cleaner and SE mufflers. You will probably run OK with either download with stock pipes. Since you are adding non-HD pipes, you really should look into installing the SERT of another tuning device to maintain proper A/F.

I have the big radius pipes and SE air filter and with the stage 1 download on my 05 and get some small decell pops when it's cold out, otherwise it runs great and gets good gas milage. I just ordered a PC III usb tuner to add on, so I can make some changes to fatten the higher rpm range at 0 throttle to get rid of those pops. I would think that the 07 with O2 sensors and stage 1 download would make those adjustments for you.

My mistake, fellas. So, without a programmer, how DO you reflash the ECM with the downloaded file or does your H-D dealer do this for you?

Thanks!

The Stage 1 download is done at the dealer, it's a factory ECM change.

"IF" you're going to do it yourself, you can either buy a SERT and use one of the canned MAPs or get a PCIII and use one of their MAPs.
or just take it to the HD dealer and let them download the MAP.

there is no way to download a MAP yourself without a SERT.
