Gas leak
Just got 2012 heritage 800 miles on it and I smell gas at top of tank . Pulled the speedometer off and found leak , the paint under the speedometer and leather is coming off . Will take it in tomorrow . Hope they will fix it . Now I have said this name is Dan this is my first up to date harley had a 45 back 62 . I have had bikes all my life traded in 2004 K1200LT BMW . Love my heritage alot , Thanks to all

Bad paint job or a crack near the top plate allowing the fuel to get between the metal and the paint or the top plate not torqued as it should be.
They owe you a new fuel tank! If they don't call HD customer service.
