Default Brake problem

So my rear pads were kind of low the other day but I got a pretty solid ride out of them over the weekend. I went out to the bike today to ride to work and noticed that the rear pads looked like they had worn all the way down to the base of the pad and there was black stuff on the rotor from the pad. The black stuff flaked off when I touched it and the rotor doesn't feel like it has a lip or anything. I'm taking the bike in for service and wont be riding until then. Will I need to replace the rotor or will a pad change and flush and scraping the black sutff off be enough. I feel pretty foolish for this one. I should have changed my pads a little while ago.

If the rotor is not warped or grooved, then I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree not a problem if rotors is good. But the stealer will try and sell you a new bike. Learn more about your bike so you don't get burnt.

Yeah. I'm not going to let them railroad me on anything. I'd do the work on the bike myself if I had the free time. I'd rather get it done by a good dealer while I'm at work or something and ride than have it up in the garage when I could be sitting on the thing. Rotor does look and feel good though.

It sounds like new pads are all you will need DC, but it's hard to say without seeing it. I'm due for pads too and just ordered some Volar pads off eBay.
