retaining clip shifted?
I replaced my rear brake pads today. 2007 EG Standard.
I left the caliper on and removed the wrong pad first. (Lesson 1)
I replaced one pad and moved to the other and they both popped out at the same time. The old and the new one I just replaced. I got both pads in place, seated the pins and torqued them to specs, but how do I tell if the retaining clip shifted? The bike brakes and rides ok? Nothing seems out of whack....
Please dont think that removing the wrong pad first was my only screw up. I rode the bike, braking heavily with the rear brake and pulled the bike in the garage. I got down and inspected the brake pads and rotors and everything looked good. So good I touched the rotors.....(Lesson 2). Never touch a hot rotor.
