Default Backfireing

Back last fall i my 1997 Harley Fatboy completly down to the frame And restored it completly back. The only part of the engine i got into was new rocker box gaskets and pushrod o-rings. Well i thought i finished getting the bike back together a few days ago and would be riding but NO. When i tried to start all it does is backfire im getting good spark and gas. i noticed a mist of gas comming out of carb and backfires out of tailpipe i even put new plugs.. Could i have done something when i was into rocker boxes??? I payed attention what pushrod came from were.. LORDy someone help lol this is killing me .

You didn't reverse the wires from the coil to the spark plug did you? Maybe it's firing out of time? Just a guess for an easy thing to check.

I will have to agree with the pushrod adjustment.

Could be several things from simple throttle cable adjustment to tolerances.

On twinkies the pushrods are different lenghts between intake and exhaust. Reversing them would cause a problem.

I missed that he said what he has... plus he's in the softail section which makes me think twinkies... so thanks for the additional disclaimer.

When you reply to a message, it would be cool if the message you were replying to stayed on your screen, eh? Save us all time and embarassment!

Sorry for the double post.
