I've noted a few comments on some forums and my local Harley dealer in the UK has said they're not selling well, so I was wondering what's the problem with the bike as I think it looks great?
Being marketed to a younger and most likely new to Harley rider. How successful it's been I don't know. I've never seen one outside of a dealer around here. My local dealer still has their original 2011 on the sales floor.
I'll be 65 in a month and really like the Blackline. Been to Augusta H-D and Savannah H-D a few times in the last month or so and have yet to see one at either dealership. I did see 2 of them at Daytona H-D when there for Bike Week.
Wonder if the reason why I'm not seeing them is because they are really not selling and the dealers don't want them or perhaps are they a hot seller and dealers can't keep them?
I don't know. I know that I love my blackline but here in my area I have the only one that i've seen. I also just spent the weekend at the Blue Ridge Bike Fest and I did not see a single Blackline besides mine. Take that for what it's worth.
I love my Blackline, but in my opinion, the combination of Vivid Black, flat black, Clear engine fins and chrome makes the engine / trans. etc look too busy making the whole theme hard to swallow, they need to revive the Night Train with the textured power-coat applied to all the parts (including the oil tank), case in particular, the primary cover is Vivid black with a chromed cover, in my opinion it looks like the original got damaged and I had to get leftover parts at a a swap shop, sure, I imagine people some like this Vivid Black / chromed cover, not me, I am certain I'll make my bike look like a night train in the future... c'mon HD, bring back the Night Train!!!
My dealer in delaware has sold many blacklines,i live in north carolina, local dealer doesnt even have one in his showroom.i love mine, denim black, stage one,big sucker,vh longshots, relocated lic.plate, turn signals.cant make up my mind on todds 12s,or burleighs 16s.must say,i havent seen another one in north carolina,i kinda like that.guy pulled up next to me on a dyna, kept revin his motor,i thought might as well see what shes got,i smoked his ***.yep, love my blackline.
