Its solid.. Doesnt vibrate hardly at all.. The top is flared up.. it deflects most of the wind right over your brain bucket.. I get more wind from the head light cut out than anything.... I have a bullet style headlight which is pushed quite aways out.. Its kinda like a/c LOL The quality is second to none.. Very durable and strong.. Watch the video on youtube about their products...[/QUOTE]
Ya I was on there site and they kick the livin crap out of those shields eh lol
So from a saftey standard its great but not sure of the look on my bike .
I have a big longated light as well, can ya snap a couple of pics of your bike and shield from a couple of angles??
At the end of the day i'll have to find a dealer hear so I can hold one up and see how she looks if ya say it doesn't vibrate like mine then it might be the one ! Joe
Well, I as of this moment I'm working on mounting a Wind Vest windshield
between my 16" apes. That ought to give you guys a good laugh! I've
used WV's in the past and they did the job for me, but of course they
were mounted using WV brackets. I'm fabricating brackets and I have
cut it to fit the contour inside the uprights of the the apes. It probably
will look like shi* when its done but I got the shield for $30 from a bud
so "nothing ventured nothing gained" if it doesn't work. Post when done.
Thanks for the pics night train,is the hole for the light big ,what size light is it , mine is a 5.5" and about 9" long ,it's to bad nobody makes a shield with different size holes or let you cut your own out eh ?
The black shock really pull it all together looks like its meant to be there!
Hey pops lets see what frankenstein shield you come up with ,never know might be a hit and everyone will be looking for used windshields, this is how these things are born after all lol Joe
m.s. batwing with the 12" shown here (i can ride highway speeds with normal eyeglasses with it looking just over) I also have the short shield for summer time (looks like a s/g)

Will do Joe, it will definitely be Frankenstien, the brackets are to large
in overall size but its all I could find. Should be done today or tomorrow
morning at the latest.
Joe - the hole is made for the factory head light. 5"-6". If I bring my light up 1" and back 3" ( I can't because of the riser bolts ) it would fit just inside the edge of the wind screen. I like the way mine looks and don't mind the a/c option :-p
I had to fabricate my brackets as well as they don't carry a hardware kit for FXST's. It actually was very easy and only took a couple hours.
I'm not going over the do ya use a windshield or not debate ,but for those that do can we see some pics and let us know how well the product you use work,I'm thinking of getting one but don't like the look of them ?
I have one but it vibrates in the wind and sends the buffeting right threw my head, anyoing as hell !! Joe
Since U didn't post what U have I have no Idea either.
I suppose U own a softail of some kind since U posted here in the Softail section, but I have no Idea of what bike it si or what Yr it is.
So what shield is it that Ur talking about???
In case U didn't know it, ON most buffering issues it comes from the bottom not the top or over the top of the shield.
Mine is a Clearview shield made of Lexan which is thicker & stiffer than my HD QD Deuce shield, it also has an upper recurve which routes air over the over your head. I got the
tinted version & is 2 inches higher than the stock one. Very good quality.
No buffeting!

Hey Joe I got the Windvest mounted. Here are some pics of the weird
windshield. It works as good as the 11" with the Windvest brackets.
Ok gentlemen let me have it, it looks like shi% right? Sorry about the pics
not being to clear.
