Im thinking of relocating my plate. Was looking for some ideas or kits that some of you might have. I've got a 2007 night train with the bobbed rear fender. Any links or pictures would be great.... Thanks!
Did some research and never found exactly what I wanted until the HD Slim came out. I was able to find someone who had a "take off" on one and mounted it to my bike. I have been very happy with the change. It was just a matter of finding the one I liked the best.
I have the Kuryakyn side mount, put it on the right so it wouldn't interfere with the swing arm bag. No issues with it so far.
Its has no plate in it in the pic, but you get the idea.
I just replaced mine this weekend bought a lighted plated holder from custom Dynamics and made a really simple "L" bracket out of a strip of steel and mounted it to the swingarm using the tab for the belt cover that I previously removed.
I took an axle mount from Road6 Customs that cost $20. Then bought a $5 chrome frame from a local indy shop. I had to bend the frame to work but you can get the flat plate holders from Road6 as well. I bought two chrome LED bolts for $16 and called it a day. I think it came out nice and was ALOT less than the others I was seeing online.
I have this one from Hi Tech LED products.
It's a radius axle mount with a LED strip that doubles as a running light. You can also buy a radius LED strip for the other side and they can double as brake lights and turn signals.
