Lots of room for running the rpm's higher, shifting later. This is for our 5 speed.

MPH @ 4000 rpm

1 --- 32
2 --- 45
3 --- 61
4 --- 80
5 --- 95

MPH @ 4500 rpm:

Gear mph
1 --- 35
2 --- 50
3 --- 70
4 --- 90
5 --- 105

My 04 Heritage also tells me when to shift, but I usually run it about 5 mph more than you stated before shifting. IE 1 to 2nd at 25, 2nd to 3rd at 35 etc.

considering the mods people do to their bikes (cams a/c exhaust etc) and the different driving habits, you will find speed/rpm to be all over the place.
i noticed this myself as i have paid attention to this subject...just so i could figure if i am doing things right or wrong :-)

stock 2011 blackline (6 speed 96B engine)

2600 to 2800 rpm seems pretty smooth for shifting

it is not often i see 4000 or more rpm as i usually dont have a need or want to (but it has happened)

other than that i am all over the place with shifting and cruising, partly mood :-) partly conditions...

and i drive them all.... twisty/sketchy winding roads, slow residential roads, secondary highways posted 80 km/h, to the 401 (main highway) posted 100 km/h (people often doing 120 to 130 km/h in the fast lane)
that is just on my way to work

if i had to pick numbers i would say i shift between 2400 and 3000 rpm in any gear.
i do know that 6 gear and 3000 rpm = 130 km/h give or take a little

The H-D manual for the bike tells you the shift points.
aka, at 40 I'm shifting into 5th gear and it purrs.
You don't need to wind up a Harley - it's got plenty of power nice and low.

1 thing to also consider and remember. You are now working and going with a totally new and different type of transmission too.
