when i changed my pegs i bought a set of snap ring pliers from auto zone that has interchangeable tips so you can change the size of the pins as needed. its been a while back but i think they were around 20 bucks.

Those small clips bend quickly and easily, just be sure to only open it enough to slide over the rest of the pin, and do the same when putting it back on. Snap ring pliers are your best bet, they always bend when you try to force them with a pick or blade screw driver.

Do yourself a favor, and reinstall using a Bolt/Nut. I lost an expensive Footpeg when the Snap Ring fell off and the post vibrated out.... I'm sure it was my fault but cheap insurance..

Hey Brutha Kojax,

Get yourself some snap ring pliers. I got my Craftsman ones from Sears and they were only around $20. They are the kind with different tips for different size rings.

One thing to be careful when installing/removing the rings is that if they come off the pliers while yo have tension on them they will shoot off into space and they are pretty tiny and hard to track down. Use one hand to operate the pliers and your other hand to cover over the end with the ring so that if it pops off the pliers it will hopefully just go into your hand. Also, I went to ACE hardware and bought about half a dozen extra rings. They are only around 10 cents each. This way I have extras in case I lose one or one gets bent. I think they are the same size as the ones used to hold your shift and brake levers so you can use them for spares on those as well should the need ever arise.

Craftsman has an awesome pair with a tapered pin and will fit the smallest of snap rings. Dont waste your time with the harbor freight ones or autozone ones, theyre are junk.
