I got mine in about a week, was in NJ at the time. Got the 2 6x9's. Added my own stereo and speakers so I can't speak for the quality of his stuff. Had to make my own support for the head unit, after bouncing around a few weeks the face plate that holds the head unit in started to loosen up. Other than that, I've been very satisfied.
I bought the reckless fairing with 6 inch round speaker cut outs and put in my own stereo. The 6 inch speakers are super loud. I put the antena inside the fairing and an ipod in my saddlebag and hooked it up to the stereo rear usb port. If you polish the reckless mounting brackets u can almost make the look like chrome also.
Can you guys post some pics? Ordered mine a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the whole 9 yards radio, speakers, amp, and paint. So far I've spoken to them a few times and they have been very helpful. A tech there even went out of his way to call a local dealer in his area to find part #'s for me on some docking mounts that I needed. My dealer was no help. So we'll see how the story ends but so far so good.
Boys back to the question at hand instead of who bought what.
I am wiring up my fairing and want to fuse the power wire. what size fuse should I use. I currently have a 10 amp in it.
*****
Always fuse any connection made directly to the positive terminal as close as possible to the battery. It doesn't matter if the component is already fused or not, the fuse close to the battery is a protection device against a fire hazard. If you have let's say a 2 or 3 foot live wire and a dead short occurs that wire will remain live until something fries or possibly burns up. By fusing in this occurrence the fuse will simply pop until the dead short is remedied. ***** a 10 amp should do you if your only connecting a radio. If you have a small amp ant the 10 amp pops when you turn it up (more current draw) then bump up the size of fuse.
thanks chief i currently put a battery tender plug on it and it pluged in to the tender harnes on the bike. that has a 10 amp fuse on it all ready. i am going to hard wire eventually. by the way I have a twin to your bike
That tender harness will work just fine, however you may want to put a little dielectric grease on the connection to prevent corrosion. Also the pic of my 03 is a little dated. I have since put bags on her, chrome lowers, a PM air cleaner, moustache engine guard and added the T-Max with auto tune. Had to add bungs on my exhaust for the O2's but now she runs like a scared rabbit. I also have a Batwing to go on just need to do paint.
