I read it, and obviously you didn't read my mine. I was simply trying to explain why the earlier seat would not work, and, that the problem was not with the fender nor the frame, it was the design of the new struts.I saidI didn't know what lepera would do to remedy the problem, and since I've notseen a wide tire seat yet,I still don't know.
Thanks for the answers....now it's clear...
Bye the way I'm not satisfied...'cause I like the very very small and slim seats!
The old Solo bare bones was a lot better and slimer than the new one...
Ok...I see...The new Softail has a widerfender...but from the pictures it seems that all the new seats '06 up are too big! IMHO of course...
So I'll try to adapt an older seat...Cut the tabs and fix with velcro it's a good idea...!
I love this forum!
In Italy we're still faraway!!! Every bike and items comes later!!! GRRRRR...
I don't know if the 99 and earlier seat will work or not, my buddy used an 00 and later seat on his 06 NT. The 99 and earlier frame is 11" wide, and the 00 and later frame is 11 3/4 wide. The 99 and earler seat might not cover your frame rails.
The only LePera seat I have persued was the bare bones. I don't know about any other of their seats. I ordered mine (originally)about 5months ago, and stayed in contact with the factory itself by phone and e-mail for 4 1/2 months. They did keep pushing the date back for one reason or the other. I cancelled my order about 3 weeks ago or so. I heard "4-6 weeks" a couple of times.................
I pre-ordered my V&H exhaust at the same time (w/ 02 bungs). I expected this to be a late 2006, early 2007 release as well at the time. Got them relatively quick, and was (pleasantly) surprised. I agree with the struts being changed in 2006 as being the reason for the new solo design's. My old one bolted to the side of the frame, and the new one bolts to the fender itself. Still surprised that these weren't out at least a year ago though.........
Good luck to those who are waiting on the Bare Bones for the 200mm tire. I started my pursuit back in late Nov/early Dec of '05 (bought my Train in Nov '05). I was told then that they are developing the seat and it would be end of Dec '05 or first of Jan '06 when they'd be ready. Left them my contact info, never heard from them so I called them back mid-Jan. I was told that more employees took vacation over the holidays than were expected (huh?). I was told at that time it would probably be 3 months due to some issues with the seat pan. When I called back in Jun '06 (didn't tell them I had been calling for over half a year already) and was told 3-4 months more development, I gave up. I still ride on the stock seat.
I would like to see pics of the 200mm bike with the earlier Bare Bones seat where the tabs were cut off and velcro used to hold it down. That sounds like an interesting option to me as long as it looks good and fits right.

Yes! I think the same! If somebody has a picture...[8D]
Thanks!
