I just bought a 1995 FLSTC Heritage, but haven't bought the service manual yet. Can someone give me a hand with wiring to the back of the bike? The wiring fried in several places and I cannot determine which wire went where. It is a 6 wire connection and I have only been able to identify 3 wires with a test light. This is what I have:
Male side of the connection-
Red/Yellow - Brake
Purple - Left Turn
Brown - Right Turn
Blue - ?
Blue/White - ?
Orange/White - ?
The last 3 wires are always hot, so I assume one is running lights.
On the female side, there were only 5 wires running to the back. The Orange/White was not ran.
Just in case someone else needs it, a user on another forum was able to help. Here are the color codes:
Red/Yellow - Stop
Violet - Left Turn
Brown - Right Turn
Blue - Running Tail light (Domestic)
Blue/White - Rear Fender Tip Lamp
Orange/White - Alternate Running Tail light
Many thanks,
Tim
Tim, you're absolutely right I didn't follow the wire from the
connector to its end point which the rear fender tip marker light. I just
read "for international use' at the connector" and stopped there. Call it
a "Senior moment". Ha!
