Question for the Springers
Does anyone have any experience for first hand knowledge of the adapters that are made to allow the FX Springer front ends to accept standard handlebars? Pros and cons of going this route?
I am having a hard time finding bars I like for my Springer, then I saw this adapter, and if these work well, then a whole new world of bars opens up for me.
Like the one in the picture?

There was a set of Ness bars for sale on here that I really liked, but since mine is a springer they wouldn't work without one of these adapters. I just didn't know if they are worth it, or would I be better off just buying a set of bars specifically made for the springers.
The Carlini is not an adapter but a whole new upper triple tree... Its CNC machined billet and show chromed...
I just bought and installed it last week... A bit pricey Carlini quoted me 180 delivered an Indi in my area got them for 150... IMO it was worth it very nice upgrade....
Not going to knock other peoples choice for those adapters but as a retired master Machinist they don't give me a warm fuzzy especially if your hanging some Apes off of them...
Carlini also gives you all the hardware....
As for the risers I decided to go with the Biltwell Dog Bone one

Carlini does make a few versions of it.
Best best is to call them and tell them that you need the Springer Adapter Plate for an FX softail.
I recently put standard riser bars on my Heritage Springer. When I called Carlini, and told them I needed the plate, once I mentioned I had an FL Springer, he knew just what I needed. Fit and finish is top notch, and worth every penny.
Another advantage too is that you can run a one piece top clamp on the risers. The stock springer risers have a tendency to strip out fairly easily.
Edit, here are some pics. As mentioned, it replaces the entire upper tree plate.
