No owner manual came with bike. What kind of oil and how much does it hold? How does security system work? Going to purchase a cylmer manual for it soon, just wanted to know about these issues now. I use shell aviation 50 ( airplane Oil) in my 85 electra glide with no problem, would this be ok for my 03 heritage softtail?
oil is 20-50 about 3.5 quarts. although 3 quarts usually fills it. hit the fob twice to arm it I think. lights blink when the bike is moved unless there is a audible alarm.
For the security system. You hold the button down till the lights flash, then it is armed. To disarm you need to double click the button like you are clicking a computer mouse. You will know it is armed by looking at the gauge. There will be a little red key symbol flashing when it is armed.
The unit can also be disarmed without the fob. This is a pretty complex procedure to explain though. Your local dealer may be willing to go over that with you though.
Thanks Dude and ya know what? I just bought 2 of those batteries because my daughters remote start on her car stopped working and I bought 2 more because I figured if hers went mine is probably right behind hers as I bought them both at the same time. I bet they are the same batteries and as soon as I get home from work today I'm gonna jump right on that!!!
U can google that for an answer. AH chit, I'll even do that for Ya.

If its got an Airplane motor in it I'd say yep... if its got a HD motor in it then I'd only use oil made for Motorcycles... I like Mobil 1 V-twin 20-50 in the motor and pri. and Motor 1 GL 75-90. works well for our IND temps.
