I am running numbers in the rake and trail calculator. I need some fill in the blanks done....I have found some of it. I can't go into the gargae and measure it because I am no where near my garage, or house for that matter.
wheel base: 64.5"
rear tire diameter: 26.1" (I think)
front tire diameter: 25.3"
steering neck rake: 32.5 degrees
triple clamp offset: need this
fork length: need this
triple tree rake: i would think 0, but not 100%
What length are you needing for the fork length? The rigid, sprung, or the distance the the steering head to the axle? Most rake/trail calculators aren't set up to work on a Springer.
Trail doesn't affect the Springer like a hydro. It's more about the relation of the rockers that affects the way the bolts from the rigid to the axle sit. The reason the rake would affect handling would be because the axle essentially gets raised, in relation to the rocker pivot bolt on the rigid.
I can check everything for you when I get home in a few minutes. Just need to know I'm giving you the right info.
I rode a springer classic that had this kit and a 21" a few months ago. It rode pretty damn nice. I cut it of at 95 with no ill handling. The install was a little more involved than the instructions. I don't know what effect a 16 or 17" wheel would do to the ride though.
