Default Which Quick Release Saddle Bag System?

Well after hours of looking and with help from some nice people here on this Forum (Thanks Skips69, Babs, Softail in 2007, Sonar Chris) I have chosen these Saddle Bags for my 06 Softail Standard.

I ordered them from my dealer today. He had a Quick Release System (aftermarket) that he tried to sell me...he had no picture or real info on the system so I passed for now. I'd like some of your recomendations for the best Quick Release System out there that will work for my bags. GhostBracketts or Bubba's..or ,,or, or????
Once again..thanking this Forum!

Bubbas is the cleanest system off the bike nothing sticks out and it will mount your bags as close as possible. It is also very ridgid because they have the lower support. But Bubbas will require that you relocate the turn signals back on the strut or off the strut and is more costly.

The Ghost bracket and Easy Brackets are easy to install, but leave studs that stick out about an inch on the struts. theay also dont mount the bags in as close as Bubbas.

So even tho they are "Harley Bags" and from the catolog they are designed to fit my Softail, I most likey will have to re-locate my turn sigs if I use a Quick Release System...as opposed to Hard Mounting the bags?
I'd rather not mess with the turn sigs....I understand it's more of a different mounting than a true relocate,,but I like the Wing look of the signals.

Not just saddlebags, a lot of HD parts require kitX orpart Y to complete the installation. That way, once they have you thinking, hmmm....I suppose that is worth $$$$$ to me and you have your mind set, they can still get another $$$ out of you to actually make it happen.

The previous owner of the '03 FatBoy I purchased had installed the HD detachable leather bags (PN 90388-04) along with the HD detachable side plate (PN 53810-00A).

I checked in the 2007 Accessories Catalog, and the same setup is suppose to fit the Softail Standard.

Never had a Harley with saddlebags before, but I like the setup. The side plate looks good, even when the bags are not attached, and the detachable side plate also allows for the HD detachable sissy bar/luggage rack to snap right in.

Mounting the saddlebags takes about 15 seconds. Slide the lower leg in the lower support, and a half turn of the 2 bolts inside the bag locks in to the side plate.

I just ordered the bubba's kit but it hasn't arrive yet. I've heard that this is the best kit around but so far I'm worried about customer support. They took my money over 1 1/2 weeks ago and I haven't seen or heard anything. Sent a few messages to them but no one has answered. I'm going to call them tomorrow if I still haven't heard from them. Actually I was trying to buy this kit for the last few months but couldn't get ahold of anyone at bubbas and they were having problems with their website and they weren't replying to any messages.

KY 23,

Did you ever hear from Bubba's? Are you going to have to re-locate you rear turn signals?
What size bags did you get?

Not heard from bubba's yet...I think after the reviews I've heard they probably make a very good product but their customer support and sales department sucks. I have a Heritage classic so the bags came with the bike...and the rear turn signals are on a light bar under the license plate so no relocation needed.

I installed them on my '07 Heritage about a month ago. I talked to them on the phone a couple times and had great service.

On Old Fender Guy bike, good clear pictures, but the system that is on it shows that the Turn Signals have been relocated (thin round stems on the T/S) Thats the problem that a lort of us run into , we dont want to relocate the T?S or we like the look of the stock "wing" shaped stems better.

Bubbas requires that you relocate, Easy Brackets will mount small and medium bags (up to 18" long ) without relocatoing the T/S.
