Hello forum i stay in south Africa.genuine Harley merchandise here is extremely expensive. I have a softail deuce 2003 model. 100 year anaversary edition. Can someone suggest an option for me for saddle bags. I want leather, the ones i have seen on Harley website are rather large. I will have to import here. Is there A decent option for me to look at that won't cost me the earth.

Hello,
I am looking for information regarding saddlebag brackets. My bike is a 2000 Harley Davidson Softail FXST. When I bought it in January 2005 the bike had saddlebags on it. They are Willie and Max throw overs made of synthetic leather I think. I like the look of throw over bags on my bike. However there are no brackets to support the saddlebags. They guy I bought the bike from simply poked holes in the bags and used zip ties to attach the bags to the frame. This way of affixing said bags to the bike frame works until the zip ties break. It also places the bags way forward of where they should be stationed. When there is a passenger on the bike their feet cannot rest normally on the foot pegs. Due to the improper positioning of the saddlebags. So for now I am simply seeking any input so I can use these Willie and Max throw over bags.
Thanks,
Louie

For heavy duty leather I dig leonkula http://lejonkulan.com/product_types/saddle-bags
a bit pricey, but worth it. Also, one big-*** bag on the off side is enough for a trip. Looks good in that eurotrash old style way too.
