I was wandering if anyone out there has an 07 softail custom with SE slash cut mufflers i was looking at these for my new bike but was wondering about the sound. if anyone has any pics or even a video clip i would really like to hear them before buying a set.
My HD dealer told me that the SE pipes for the 07 models were a joke...they told me I would be very dissappointed with the sound and performance if I got them -- probably because they are street legal so they don't do much. They said that if I wanted to keep my bike all Harley (no aftermarket parts), the best thing to do is to find some SE pipes for 06 and older models which were, I guess, not street legal and give you a much louder sound.
I don't know, I'd be interested to hear other's opinions. Trying to decice for myself what to do on my 07 Deluxe.
Hi, I have just picked up my 06 softail from the dealers. I have just had screaming eagles put on and boy what a noise. I even had to turn my ipod off just to listen to the noise (full face helmet, shamag and extremely good helmet stereo system). However I had dealers 07 softail demonstrator with harley pipes on and even though there was a roar more noticable than my previous stock pipes it,s not a patch on my SEs.
s/e pipes for the 07's suck, sound like the stock sewing machine sound. i would suggest rush slip-ons with 2" baffles. i had the s/e slip-ons and was not impressed, junked them and went with rush.
