I bought the HD Chrome Headlight Nacelle part# 67907-96B (click here)

You will also need to get Chrome Nacelle Hardware Kit 67897-96B

I would also recomend getting a Headlamp Trim Ring these add a nostalic look to the lens. There are several different ones I got part# 69626-99

There are a few dealers online that have 20% off pretty much everything they seel, be pretty good savings on that much. Latus, Surdyke, Chicago, and some others.

Those are cool. Rick is the first one I saw with one of those. I still can't decide if it is worth the added expense. Hmmm...I actually have the cash for it now, and that is unheard of for me...Thinking....

I bought mine at the Harley dealer when they were having a 20% off sale. You don't need to remove your tank to install the nacelle, but if you do the bars at the same time it provides a good place to make your wiring connections and extensions.I also have my horn and a load equalizer for my LED turn signals in there.

Right, but you do have to remove the tank to get the old fork cover off (pull the headlight wire through the cover). Or is there an easier way that I missed?

I think you can slide the old fork cover up, so you don't need to remove the tank...

It took me awhile before I went with the nacelle, but then I had priorities and the nacelle number finally came due.
I also recommend the HD version with 20% discount, I think it is better chrome than aftermarket.

I have small spots with mine (which are as bright/brighter than the large spots, I've had both) and like the clean look.

I have the those spots also. I like the sleek look that they give my bike. Headwinds has some nice alternate spotlamp setups. Easterns performance will beat any price you can find on parts.

I purchased mine with the bike and had the dealer install before I took delivery. It's the HD version and I got 20% off the HD accessories I had installed at time of purchase. The chrome is very good and the unit seems to be of high quality. I added the passing lamps and relocated the turn signals myself, so I've had the nacelle apart. It's easy to install but you need to be a little patient because of the alignment. I found that if I left the side bolts a little bit loose and then installed the headlamp and (inner) trim ring it helped with the alignment. Since I didn't take the original tins off I can't speak to what's invloved with removing them or the associated wiring. You don't have to remove the tank to wire this in (unless the original tins force you to). Depending on how **** you are you can simply cut and splice the wires inside the nacelle. That's what I did.

One thing to be aware of is that a nacelle will limit/alter your ability to add other items to the front end. The spacers that came with the passing lamps were too thick to fit between the passing lamp bracket and the nacelle so I had to improvise; which is just as well because the ones supplied with the kit were crappy zinc plated so I used stainless spacers. Also, the upper bolts supplied with the kit were too short to fit through the passing lamp bracket & nacelle so I had to source longer ones. I don't have a windscreen yet but I plan to add one for the winter months and longer rides. There is a limited number of these available to fit the nacelle headlamp housing. I also plan to add a set of Carlini Slickbacks and this will require a cover to hide the oval gap in the top of the nacelle once you remove the top cover and stock handlebar clamp. There are other caveats as well but the above should serve to give you some things to think about.

Anyway, good luck with your search. Let us know how you make out. Good luck & ride safe.
