Default Tire Question

Ordering my 120x70-21 and on the website they have two choices. One is 120x70-21 and one is 120x70V-21. I think are bias ply and the V is speed rated for up to 149 mph. The cost difference is $3. Any other differences? Thinking to go with the V rated?

Think you'll go that fast??
Seriously tho, which has higher load rating? I think that would make more of a difference in my decision.

No, not going that fast. The load rating is approx. 700 lbs and the V rating denotes speeds up to 149 mph.

Is there a shape difference? Some of the higher speed rated tires are for sport bikes and may be more triangular shaped instead of round in cross-section.

Nope, not that I can tell. Its the avon venom AM41 like I am running now, just in a 21" diameter. The site lists two tires in the size I need. One is v rated and one isn't. There is $1 difference in price, so I was wondering what the difference really is.

Boy, I can't think of anything. Sooo, all things considered, logic would dictate the V-rated tire would have a stronger carcass to withstand the higher stresses of high speed. But would that compromise ride quality? I'll be honest and say that if i say anymore I'll be guessing. Don't wanna lead you astray.
Beautiful ride, BTW.

Thanks. I'm calling Avon on Monday. Their site only lists one tire that size and it's not the V rated one. We'll see...
