Default Need some help please

Hello i have a 2006 heritage fuel injected and im wanting to put 16" bars on. A friend of mine has a 2010 heritage thats fuel injected that has 16s on it and hes wanting to go with 18" bars. Will all of his cables and break line off the 2010 fit my 2006? From just looking the throttle and return cables look the same but im not 100% sure. The clutch cable concerns me as well being mine a 5 speed and his the 6 speed. any help i would sure appreciate it. Hes helped me out on a few things so i was going to return the favor if his will fit mine instead of just buying the kit for my bike. Thanks in advance for your help.

haven't changed bars on one for yrs.

If u can buy a kit,, I'd just look in the catalog and cross ref them. That should tell U what yr of bikes the kit will fit and work on..

yeah they should fit..the clutch cable is just a long cable that runs along the frame to the clutch housing cover on the right side of the bike.. as long as he doesn't have ABS, all the cables should be fine.

I dont think his has the ABS i was worried if the trans housing where the clutch cable screws in is the same threads and size on the 5speed to 6 speed. And where it hooks to the clutch disengagement cam if its the same. Everything i have found about 75% show 07 and newer for a kit and 06 and older a different kit. (Looking on ebay) The harley dealer said most of the times it will interchange but harley says it wont because they have not tried fitment so they just say it wont work. (not sure how much truth there is to that though) I do know it held true on a couple chrome covers i bought. said right on the package would not fit but it fit like a glove. Maybe the smart thing to do is just get the one for my bike. But then again i really hate to leave a friend hanging like that. If i knew his would work i would go that way. Sure looks the same though. I got about an hour in a half left to decide before the auction ends on the new set up. man decisions, decisions.
Thanks again for the reply's i really appreciate your time.
