It also depends on the look you're going for and the amount of clearance you have on the front end. The skinny fender on my Springer limits my tire width a lot. I think I only have an MH90-21 on the front. 90mm is a pretty skinny tire!!!
yeah its for a softail deluxe im mouting them on a 21x3.5 rim so the 120/70-21 will look good or should i get a 90/90/21 tire better? also i have a 16x3.5 rear rim and wondering if i should go with a mt 90 B16 or go with a 150/80/16

No, I don't think so. A 90 is for a narrower rim I believe. You need to check the manufacturer's application guide if you haven't already. I also don't think you will like the look of a narrower tire on a Deluxe, but who knows...

For the front go with the 120/70/21. Sure, you can stretch the 90 and some people do, but I wouldn't do it personally. The 120 will give you plenty of rubber and will fit the 3.5" perfectly.
I'm running an 18 rear but the 150/80 will fit the 16". Here's a good chart to use at hdwheels.com
