I asked a few weeks ago if anyone has ever used DP brake pads. Seems that they are not used by anyone on this site however, their website claims:

Compound specifically designed for Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
No brake dust.
No brake noise.
No brake fade.
Kind to rotors.
Greatly improved performance over O.E pads.

Not sure if this is true but it is an alterative to the Lyndall's if anyone wants to try them.

Yeah but the op spelled it "steelers" like the football team instead of "stealer" as in they steal your money.

Haha sorry couldn't resist! I've read lots of good things about the Z-pads as well and plan on giving them a shot.

Lyndall Z-Plus pads with close to 8000 miles on them an they are wore out. On the rear of the bike an have dusted the rim since new as much or more than the original harley pads. Going back to harley pads as I never seen anything better about them.

Sorry for "Steelers" rather than "Stealers" Hugs Pittsburg fan, must of had them on my mind. I realized it after I sent it out but thought, who cares? LOL. I am going to google a bit more on the pads before I choose, looks like everything else, everyone has their own thoughts and experiances with differant products and it does not seem that one out weighs the other. I have no problem paying more for quality if and when I find it. I have to be honest, I have the stock pads on now and I never really ever had a bad problem with brake ddust and stopping. They do only have a little over 5k on them though. I still have some shoe left but hearing a clicking type sound when rear brake applied. Is that sound a warning on low pads or something else? P.S., edit, spelling was never my strong point but who really cares?

My z pads front and rear have both been on over 20K miles. I have no stake in this discussion sales wise but you guys need to realize that there is no way a brake pad can be completely dustless as stated above when the pads wear there is dust from the pads.

The fronts are quite low and I have a new set ready to go when I have time. The rears look new as I rarely use them. The "dustless" claim seems to be taken out of context or too seriously by everyone. Read what I wrote above and reference the fact that a pad will make dust no matter what pad it is. That is why Lyndall uses the quotation marks. The guys with the whitewalls probably notice the dust a lot more than those who do not run whitewalls but either way the Z pads seem to work well for me and do not squeak in my calipers (PM). If you are experiencing squeaking get soem brake pad lubricant (yes it exists) and put it on the back of the pads and reinstall and see what happens.

As far as the gold pads, they need to get quite a bit hotter than the z plus pads to have the same amount of stopping power as the z plus pads. We feel that for race application they are great but for street use they are not nearly as good as the z plus.

Take it for what it's worth which may be nothing.

Default DP Brakes

I have a Deluxe, hated the fact that I always had brake dust on my WWWs. I put a set of DP sintered pads on my rear binders and after over seven hundred miles I must say that the claims of "no dust" are true. No squeal or fade either. I will be replacing the front soon with the same pads. Got them online for under $36.00.

By the way..... if you are looking for a way to clean your WWs, without having to get out the bucket and hose, try using "Simple Green" I just spray some on a small paper towel and quickly wipe the tire. Before it dries, wipe it off. That simple (no pun intended) It's also friendly to painted/chrome surfaces. Not that I recommend using it for those, just that the slight smear on these will not harm them. I think Wesley's says on the bottle not to get it on any painted surface.
