Calling all Springers!
I just realized I never posted updated pics in this thread of my Petty Ann after I installed the H-D Wide Beach Bars late last summer...!
The mock-up. Note that the bars and rises were both chrome. Harley doesn't make the 1.25 bars in black. My initial plan was to PC everything gloss black but once I mocked them up for some reason I felt like the bars themselves should stay chrome. The risers went off to the powder coater about a week after this photo was taken...

The completed bar install, although at this point I was running the stock mirrors which weren't working for me visually. I also installed an H-D Nostalgic engine guard that I had PC'd black along with the risers.

I went into my Box-O-Parts and dug up an old set of round H-D mirrors that I painted black with Rustoleum. They actually turned out pretty good but I had stopped using them for one reason or another when I still had the mini apes. I thought they worked a lot better with the new bars and fenders.

Close up view. Note the H-D 1.25 risers with fresh powder coating!

...Aaaand a view from the front. Much cleaner looking thanks to the internal wiring!

Up next on my list of mods is the rear lighting and the front turn signals. I am coming up with a number of solutions that are more old school but don't require any heavy modification to the rear fender or the front light set up.

damn it Tom I've been looking for a FX set up for the last year on e-bay and haven't had time The last couple of weeks and you score one when I slack off. Gonna look good on your bike.
Great looking Springer!
Three questions:
1. How did you get the plastic Crossbones battery cover to work with your narrow fender? Can you post close up photos?
2. What apes are you running?
3. What tires are you running? How do you like them?
Thanks!

Hey Guys - Last weekend I purchased a stock ’96 Springer from the original owner. This will become my next long term project bike … I’ve already begun planning the mods. Hope to ride her home this Sunday, and will post some pics soon
