Looks really, great! I'm going in a few days to look at a springer, I'm pretty excited about it! Maybe in a few weeks, I'll have some pictures of my own, to post here, with the rest of your terrific bikes.
In 1968 a Springer almost killed me. Most of the problem as me drag racing another bike and not maintaining my old Springer. I didn't know anything about maintaining a Springer back then.
I haven't owned a Springer since my crash in 1968. At this time in my life, I've been working and building bikes for 46 years and know a lot more about maintaining a Springer. It's time for a Springer bike.
Here's my Springer build. It should be running some time next year.
Please tell us how that Springer nearly killed you.
Please tell us how that Springer nearly killed you.
My lack of knowledge of maintaining the Springer allowed it to get sloppy and at high speed (4th gear winding out) I got a speed wobble.
I blame it on the Springer but it was my poor maintenance was really the cause of the speed wobble.
The speed wobble threw me off the bike and we both went for a slide. I slid about 1/2 block length and the bike slid about a block length. I was laid up for awhile with my injuries.
