You should be able to find something in they range fairly easy. I paid 6500 for mine with 20k on the odometer. 1996. Needed new seals and bunch of work due to the low mileage so be ready for that. Will need springer service as well which is about 400 bucks. Now it rides like a new bike and is honestly the best bike I have ever owned, and I have owned a ton of different bikes.

Last I checked there was a couple FXSTS for sale here in the classifieds. Both under 7k. There was a member selling his with two sets of tins for around that price.

Yes I have looked in the classified section and that begs the question on year ?
Bikes and millage about the same , but 7 years different and EFI vs Carb.

I didn't see which one has two sets of tins.. But one has after market parts and one sems stock. I prefer stock myself.. ???

I looked for a year.... problem is that many Springer owners are very proud of their Springers... To the point of silliness...

Be persistent, keep looking, you will eventually find a good, if not fair, deal...

After a year of looking, I found this 2001 FXSTS, with a carb, and 9,800 miles for $7200.

If you're talking about mine, I bought it almost exactly one year ago.....

I bought it and it was completely OEM, except for the seat. In the pic I posted, I had changed a few things.....
