I am not sure if I should post this here in the Softail area or Exhaust but I just picked up a 2012 Fatboy. My intentions have been to install a set of slip-on mufflers only. I dont have the funds to go the full mods route and I dont know if I will ever, funds are limited when I reached the over 60 yr old group.
I started to look the bike over after I got it home and I notice that if I need to have the rear tire changed the exhaust has to come off or will they be smart enough to just disconnect and drop the stock muffler. I cant do heavy grunt work anymore as I do not have the full use of my left arm so almost all the work will go to a shop.
Question - Is there a company that sells a Slip-on that will be short enough to clear the axle bolt on a 2012 so I do not have to pay the additional money just to remove the exhaust to get to the rear wheel?
If not I guess I would rather get a full set of pipes then to pay them over and over for the extra work.
