Does anyone know if the stock triple trees are raked on a 1993 FXSTC. I was under the assumption that the trees were not raked but have also heard that they were.
I don't know wether the FXSTC was raked in the frame or trees but it was a 34 degree rake if that's any help to you.
this is exactly how i think about it too,
and i remember the FXSTC had clearly more rake than the Heritage, and assuming that HD probably used the same frame for both Softails, I guess they added the rake for the FXSTC in the triple tree...
but this is only my way of thinking, not sure though...
You can tell by looking at the trees/frame neck. Set the bike nearly upright (not necessary, but makes it easier), then back off a bit and simply eyeball the line of the forks compared to an imaginary line through the steering head (neck). If they are parallel, there is no rake to the trees. If not parallel, then there is some rake. Once you've seen a set of raked trees you'll be surprised how easy it is to ID them.
Kind of hard to tell with the neck cups built into the frame neck. Still the trees don't look like they are at a different angle from what I can tell. I'll assume the frame is raked until someone tells me different for sure.
