New here... I just picked up an '05 springer classic (FLSTSCI). I've been researching parts and bags to make this more mine. Very few parts in the HD catalog and aftermarket suppliers list this model. Do I have to be specific when looking at supported models or will a lot of parts cross over from the heritage or any other models? Especially saddlebags.
A lot of parts will cross. For bags, make sure you get the ones that will fit with the exhaust you run. Some bags aren't as deep as others. For bars, you have to stick with springer bars....... After some looking and research, you'll get it figured out.
For your model bike
FL's = 16" front wheels without rake in the forks and forks 2" shorter than FX's
FX's = 21" front wheels with some rake in the forks
Frames are identical.

Thanks!
I'm running dual fishtails which you can see in this pic.
I'll get a measurement from the mounting bracket and compare that. The current bags were bolted on and have to be removed for the quick release sissy bar to come off. I want to correct that issue soon.
Are there any particular models that are more specific as a crossover replacement? I realize it all depends on the part but in general is what I'm asking.
If u put the docking kit on it will allow Ur bags to bolt up and U'll have room to still put on and take off U detachable sissy bar... Talk to Ur HD parts dept to make sure.

Thanks.
I stopped in at the dealer yesterday and the parts guys said pretty much everything from the heritage should fit except for front end parts.
