Probably better off going to a chrome exchange. There are couple on EBay.

If its the same as the one on the Nightrain which I think it is, I just polish mine with some slightly abrasive metal polish, it comes up pretty shiny but needs doing every couple of months or so.

That's why a Harley is just a starter kit! Use Mother's on it or exchange it for a chrome one.

I have a 2007 fxstc and I actually want to get a spoked back wheel to match my front wheel. It will also help with the cross winds here in Central Cali ....they can be brutal on anyone with solid wheels.

A friend of mine complained tonight about his solid wheels and the wind. I wondered if you could cut some of the solid material out of those wheels??????

Mike5511,

There is a Co on ebay that sells cut out solid wheels, its an exchange program. They have some nice looking wheels and it's pretty cost effective

Never had any problem with crosswinds and my solid rear wheel. What is a problem is the polishing, it's a pain. I use Mother's billet polish and their mini ball. I'm going to look into the chrome exchange when I need a new rear tire.

Getting rid of the solid back wheel was one of the first things I did

I've got an 05 standard and I pc'd mine gloss black. Looks good and easy to clean. Never have a problem with the wind or anything like that.
