Default Bars and Tank Lift

All help appreciated...I have an 06 Deuce and was planning on putting a set of t-bars on it with a 3 inch tank lift. My questions are...How will the tank lift affect my usable amount of fuel? Next, How much rise will I need on the bars once I lift the tank? I want them to sit close to one another but not hit when the bars are turned to the side. If anyone has pictures of this please let me know...I haven't seen it on a bike yet, I'm just visualizing in my head. Thanks in advance.

first you have to figure out how high you are going to lift the tank.it doesnt effect gas useage at all.you might want to check if it will hit your bars first before buying a lift.just turn your wheel and unbolt your front bolt and loosen the rear bolt to your tank.then raise your tank and see what height your looking for.you can stick something under the tank to look at if from afar to get a better judgement.standard heights on lifts are usally 1.5-2.0-2.5 or 3.0 inch..i custom make tank lifts myself.they are ( t-bone style) not the flimsy strap kind.check out my post in the motorcycle parts for sale.hope that helped a little.

here is the link to the post.it says just for dynas but i make for all other models to.https://www.hdforums.com/m_1147153/tm.htm

I have a 2.5" lift on my tank with the bars to match. The only thing I noticed with the gas is the fact that I can't fill it all the way up anymore, due to the angle of the tank. It is very close though. I like it much better than the stock. I made my kit in my garage. Bought the chrome bolts and painted to match . Total cost of about $15

Hey Jimstro, how about a straight side shot.I like the slammed rear-end.I think my bike might look good with a little tank lift.
