Just returned from a weekend trip and have brake grime on my front wheel that won't seem to come off - I have a Fat Boy Lo with the black wheels with metal trim - any suggestions on how best to get this stuff off? Thanks!
S100 makes a full line of products and they seem to work well. Also Simple Green is a good degreaser. I have not used Simple Green, but it seems to get compliments on this Forum.
Not sure whats in either of them (S100 or Simple Green) but if left on too long it can sort of corrode the aluminum.
So a word to the wise would be to make sure to use enough water to thoroughly flush any aluminum parts you get the stuff on.
Then rewash it with an good grade of car wash soap designed to leave a wax coating behind.
It will get into places you can't or won't with regular paste or even spray wax.
PS I use Simple Green to wash the bugs and other road crap off my bike and it works well.
But I do thoroughly rinse it off, rewash, and often wax the whole bike afterwards.
