Default Slouched on Fatboy

Pretty new to Harley, but rode small sport bikes for a few years. I find myself feeling like I am slouched over when I'm riding. Not really uncomfortable, but definitely slouched at shoulders. When I try to get a little more upright, I feel like I'm pulling on the bars. Wondering whether more pull back on the bars would change things. I'm 6' with shorter legs and a longer torso. Maybe I'm bent by the sport bikes. Maybe I'm just fighting the wind. Are you slouched, upright, or leaning back on your Fatboy?

Bar position and seat style will greatly affect how your shoulders are at ride hieght. By changing either one you can change how you sit and how your arms reach the bars. Check out other Fatboys and see if you find a set up you like. Larger dealers that have big inventories of used bikes usually have enough selection for you to try out differences.

Sounds like you need some ape hangers, buddy! I find it uncomfortable to ride any bike without them.

I see a new set of handlebars in your future.

I didn't like my stock ones. They where kind of like buckhorns sorta. They changed them in 2012. Sat on a new model and really liked them so i installed them on my bike and it solved the problem. Handlebars are a personnel choice. Sometimes you have to go through a few to find the one you like unless you find a bike that has one that you like.

Dealer here has a Deluxe set up with a wall of quick change handle bars so you can get an idea for what might fit you best.

I put the risers from the Deluxe (4" pullback) on my '10 FB and what a world of difference!

I'm 6' and built like you. I ride a Deluxe. Pull back risers could do the trick or maybe beach bars . . .

As Benway mentioned, many dealers have a "Fitting" bike in the showroom, usually over by the the accessories. You can try several bar types.

If you have a 2010 or 2011 Fatboy lo the stock bars suck for seating comfortable. For 2012 they went with more pull back. To fix your issue would require a bar swap or a reduced reach seat. I went with a bar swap and put apes on mine. If you go bar swap the cheapest and easiest way would be to get 2012 bars as it is a straight swap with no new cables or wires. If you have a 2012 then it sounds like you need to seat on other bikes and get a fell if you like beach bars or apes. I would vote for apes as beach bars are not as responsive for turning.
