Cleanup after oil change

I put a ziploc bag over the filter and unscrew, catches most of the oil...whats left i spray with brake cleaner or carb cleaner...5 years now and all the paint, black **** and dirt is still there....70000 miles????? might me time to wash it.

I have a plastic oil filter tray that snaps under the filter before you remove it. It channels the oil from the filter to the oil catch pan. All I have to do is wipe off the oil filter mating surface and screw on the new filter. Nothing to clean up unless I "ham fist" something, then I use some Simple Green.

I've always used brake cleaner to clean up and never had a problem with paint. Now, if they were using brake *fluid*, I could see a problem ...

I use electrical contact cleaner, kinda similar to brake clean, but I know it won't harm any electrical wiring or connections.

you can buy a oil filter funnel from harley for 10$

i use simple green or spray nine diluted tho

Me too, I just used a generic straight sided 2 liter soda bottle, then the simple green in a spray bottle and the hose on what's left.

Me three. Cut a slot in the coke bottle for the wrench, leave the cap on to catch the oil.

Wipe up any oil with a paper towel.

I'm cheap so instead of simple green I use the 'orange' cleaner I find at a dollar store.
