Abandoned 1 of my Busa's for a Fatboy. Joined a Military Association and the rides they do were not very comfortable on a 08 Busa. Had a few surgeries and have issues with being on a sportbike for 300+ miles at a time. Still have my 06 Busa for those in and around time and the twisties (when it wants to run) but the '11 Fatboy is awesome and comfortable for long rides with my brothers and sisters.
My 47 y.o. godson has 13 bikes - gets the latest, greatest and often the rarest most
every year with his newest being a 2012 MV Agusta F4 1000RR. Nonetheless, his 2004
Harley bagger gets more miles every year than all the rest combined. Thirteen battery
tenders too. lol. Btw - the older ya get the more you'll like floorboards too.

Do a search theres more reading here about this issue. Loved my rockets, but it gets old and so did i. Don't get me wrong, took a gixxer out the other day and wailed on her, but thats one of the reasons im on a Deluxe now!!! You'll learn to like the comfort of the floor boards and yea go ahead and scrape em. You'll never get a HD to stop or light up like a rocket but i gotta tell ya mines got 120hp and she wails pretty good. Wife loves the comfort of this over the rocket, your a rider if you get it to far over you know how to save it. Tons of ways to make it look like you want it to, but yea the wallet will take a hit. In my opinion there is no way i'd go back. Plus in about 10 minutes i put all the tour stuff on it and i'm ready to go for days with no worries about room. Teflon
I currently ride two bikes, Slowpoke (2010 Fatboy lo) and Speedy (2005 ZX-12R). Both have their good and bad points. I love them both, they serve me differently. When I ride with the wife (she rides a 2008 Deluxe) I take the Fatboy. When I ride in the back country backroads, I take the Fatboy. When I ride across the US or Canada, I take Speedy. Two types of riding, two types of bikes.
This is a good thread. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has had a sport bike then a Harley and still wants a sport bike. I miss my r6, the gsxr I could live without. I can tell you guys I could ride my fatboy for 8 hours and keep on going. I know it would cost a lot of money to even attempt to get some speed like a stock sport bike. But there is way more you can do with a Harley than a sport bike like touring without feeling like crap.
