Default Lost the Train, Time to Move On

So I lost the 08 Night Train in to ex-wife a little over a year ago, and now I've decided its finally time to move on from that bike. I'm currently overseas and hadn't planned on buying a new bike anytime soon, but thought to myself I would see what type of prices I could get from the auto sales over here. I've got a 79 Shovelhead, but still want something a little more dependable for long trips. Next thing I know I bought a Vivid Black 2012 Deluxe with ABS and security. When I was in the Market for my last bike I was going to buy a Deluxe, but fell in love with the styling of the Train. Now I'm heading back to the Lux... Its being delivered to the local dealership in September when I come home for my 16 day break.

I've got all but my tires and rotors ordered for the new build (at least the first stage of it). So far I've picked up a set of Carlini Gangster Apes 14's (Black), 33" Samson's, Arlen Ness Big Sucker, Power Vision Tuner, Grips, Passenger Floorboards, Shotgun Shock, Progressive Front Lowering Drop in Kit, Softbrake license plate relocate kit,Set of DNA Black and Chrome 21x3.5 and 18x4.25 Diamond Cut wheels, and a Arlen Ness Billet Black Pully.

I'm going to have the stealership install the apes before my arrival and I'll do everything else. I did the apes on my Train, but it took me a good full 2 days of work, even though the bike was broken down for a week. Just don't want to spend that kind of time on the bike while I'm only home for such a short timeframe. I'll do the others in pieces while I'm home in between rides. When I come home this winter, I'm planning on taking apart the front end to have powdercoated.

Also booked my hotel for the Bikes, Blues, and BBQ Ralley in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Maybe I will see some of you up there.

Sounds like it will be some fun working on your new digs! I put the bars and chrome controls on mine and it took a good two days. Was glad when it was finished!!!

Shame about the Train but now that you have a brand new Deluxe to look forward to, you're right, it's time to move on. Congratulations on the new bike.

I love wrinkle black powder-coating. Have# to shoot it.thick and.bake.it longer but hides all light tool marks.
