06 Softail wheels on a 99
I ran across a deal for some take off laced wheels from a 2006 Softail. Will these be a bolt on on my 1999 Heritage softail? Thanks in advance for all the help. A great forum!

The 2006 wheels will not fit pre-99 bikes. 2000 up models have different brake rotors. The size of the center hole in the rotors is different and do not have the small notch which you would find on your 99. Hub width is different after 2000. The difference between the single "puck" style brake calipers that you have and the 4 pistons from 2000 and later, would be a whole new set of issues, which get into swingarm and spacing.

In 2000 FL touring models switched to 1" axle, dynas followed suit in 2004. Just this year softails got a thicker axle, but for whatever reason harley went with a 25mm axle (1 inch= 25.4mm).
